About Townhomes
Say good bye to the drudgery of mowing grass and shoveling snow! Condominium living is a lifestyle! Condominium lifestyle doesn't have to be just for senior citizens or those moving toward their retirement years; it can also be a good fit for newlyweds or young singles working at building their careers. The key is to understand all the elements of Condominium living to make sure the lifestyle it offers is right for you!
The first consideration is the community itself. By law you are allowed 9 days to review the by-laws of any community in which you are considering purchasing a unit. The by-laws may reveal any restrictions you may not feel comfortable with, or rules that are simply not acceptable for you. For instance, some communities restrict owning pets of any kind. So, if you own a dog or a cat, this would certainly not be a suitable place for you . Other communities may allow pets, but restrict the number or size of the pets that you own.
Or, if you are a gardener, you might want to make sure there are areas where you may be able to plant and that the by-laws allow you to do any gardening directly around your unit. Some communities do not allow any co-owner planting while others will allow limited gardening with board of director approval and still some others will allow you complete sovereignty in certain areas near your unit, within reason.
